The 3rd Annual "Back to School Initiative" took place at the San Jose Bar and Grill located in St. Mary's, GA. on July 27, 2018.  A total of 11 adults and 15 children were present and the children were provided with either chicken nuggets or cheese quesadilla and French fries.  Chips/salsa were provided to all attendees as well as a choice of soft drink.  Many of the children have been participants in the program since its inception and we have enjoyed watching their growth and accomplishments.

After the meal each child was provided a new backpack with age/grade appropriate school supplies, personal hygiene items, socks and either new clothing or a gift certificate to purchase an outfit.  There were also two tables filled with an array of new reading books and science and geography kits.  Each child made several trips to chose up to 5 books, 2 science kits and 2 geography kits.  They seemed most excited to be able to "shop" for these items.

Backpacks, again filled with school supplies, personal items and gift certificates for clothing were also presented to the two children living in Dunedin, Fl and these were presented by Kelly Moore and Kate & Matt Oyer.  Tom and Glenda also delivered an additional backpack to a child in Starke, FL.

All of the children were pleased with their gifts and said THANK YOU!
